Day 6, Where To From Here...
Today turned out to be the best days At Tamworth for us. There have been many amazing moments over the past few days. There just seemed to be something special about today, it is our last day in Tamworth and it only seems fitting that it should be the best.
We got going later in the morning, no rush to get into town as we had nothing planned until later in the afternoon. This morning was just a special memory, we sat around with the girls, having coffee and brekky on the front patio, soaking up the sun. These girls have been big supporters of ours, they have become great friends, actually they have become family. We have shared some laughs and stories, it's been a blast. Memories I'm sure Michele and I will cherish.
We headed into town around lunchtime, the girls were booked into a tribute show at 2:30, Michele and I decided we'd catch a movie.
We sat down in the mall and shared Lunch with the girls. After that we walked the streets a bit. While we were out we managed to catch up with the lead guitarist from Michael's band. It was just a quick hello and hand shake, congratulations on his "Pride & Joy" rendition.
We went and watched "The Post" a movie with Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in it. It was a pretty interesting film.
After the movie, we wondered around a bit more, Michele did some shopping.
Then it was time to grab a feed, we ended up at Hog Breath Cafe. Had a steak and a beer.
We walked back to the Services Club for what turned out to be the highlight of the trip. It was a songwriter showcase being performed by Michael Bryers, Luke O'Shea, Lyn Bowtell and Brad Butcher. These guys put on an amazing show filled with beautifully crafted and well performed songs, some great banter between all of them and great stories. Over the last few days, I have felt the passion for music returning to my veins. I've always loved music, but it has at times taken it's toll on us as well. Doing 3 four hour gigs in a weekend, travelling in excess of 1000kms at the same time. Living out of a car and sports bag. The late nights and early morning starts. I have been doing the Liquid Lunch thing for the past 3 and a half years, but I have been playing and writing since I was 13. I have had my ups and downs, doubts and uncertainties, but I always go back to it, I am a moth and the music is the flame. I am so grateful that I have music in my life. I have to admit I have been feeling a bit jaded over the last couple of months, until tonight.
Tonight, their performance made my musical heart beat again. I just want to write great music and share it with the world.....
